Ignite Invites AI in GovTech Startups to Transform Governance in Pakistan

Published on

Ignite – National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MOITT), has announced a nationwide call for startups and companies working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions aimed at transforming public governance in Pakistan. The initiative invites innovators to participate in the upcoming AI Ideation and Co-Design Workshop, which focuses on developing AI-powered technologies that can enhance how governments deliver services to citizens.

The call encourages startups, researchers, and technology firms developing AI applications in areas such as citizen engagement, public safety, data analytics, digital services, and policy automation to apply and collaborate directly with government stakeholders. Through this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to co-design solutions that can help shape the future of digital governance in Pakistan.

Ignite’s AI in GovTech initiative is part of its broader mission to promote innovation-driven policy design and digital transformation. By bringing together AI experts, entrepreneurs, and public sector representatives, the program aims to bridge the gap between emerging technology and governance challenges. This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s vision of building a “Government of the Future”—one that leverages AI to enhance transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric decision-making.

The AI Ideation and Co-Design Workshop will serve as a platform for collaboration and experimentation, allowing innovators to present real-world use cases for AI in government. Selected participants will gain access to mentorship, technical support, and potential collaboration opportunities with public institutions. The focus will be on practical applications of AI that can optimize processes, strengthen public service delivery, and improve data-driven policymaking.

Startups and AI solution providers interested in participating are encouraged to submit their applications via the official registration link. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, November 8, 2025.

This initiative marks another step in Ignite’s continued efforts to advance Pakistan’s technology ecosystem. Over the past few years, Ignite has led several programs promoting deep-tech innovation, digital skills, and research commercialization, contributing to the nation’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy. The AI in GovTech program reflects this ongoing commitment to harnessing emerging technologies for public good and sustainable governance.

By inviting the country’s top innovators to contribute their expertise, Ignite and MOITT aim to redefine the intersection of technology and governance in Pakistan. The initiative not only fosters collaboration between the private and public sectors but also reinforces the government’s focus on AI for Good, empowering solutions that improve lives, streamline systems, and set the foundation for a smarter, more connected Pakistan.
