Ignite, operating under Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, is gearing up to launch the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program for Startups, a national initiative aimed at helping Pakistani startups adopt and scale cloud infrastructure efficiently. The program has been designed to reduce barriers that often prevent early-stage and growth-stage startups from leveraging cloud technology while ensuring that adoption occurs in a structured and sustainable manner. By facilitating access to cloud resources and technical expertise, the initiative seeks to empower the local startup ecosystem and foster innovation across sectors that increasingly rely on scalable digital infrastructure.
The program will offer tier-based cloud cost reimbursements of up to 60 percent, subject to terms and conditions, enabling startups to manage operational expenses more effectively as they expand their digital footprint. In addition to financial support, Ignite will provide structured technical guidance to help startups optimize cloud adoption, including advice on architecture, deployment, and security practices. This approach is intended to help founders build robust, scalable systems while avoiding common pitfalls associated with cloud migration and infrastructure management.
Access to the program will be open and inclusive, allowing both NIC-affiliated and non-NIC startups to participate through a transparent selection process. This inclusivity is aimed at broadening opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs across Pakistan and ensuring that innovative startups, regardless of affiliation, can benefit from the initiative. Moreover, Ignite plans to collaborate with local and international Cloud Service Providers to enhance ecosystem support, allowing startups to connect with leading industry players and gain exposure to best practices and advanced cloud technologies.
By reducing entry barriers for cloud adoption, the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program is expected to accelerate the growth trajectory of Pakistani startups while fostering operational resilience and cost efficiency. Startups participating in the program will have the opportunity to implement scalable cloud solutions, support digital transformation initiatives, and strengthen their competitive advantage both locally and internationally. Ignite has indicated that further details, including eligibility criteria and full terms and conditions, will be shared in the coming weeks. Entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders are encouraged to stay updated as this program is expected to play a critical role in enabling sustainable, technology-driven growth across Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.
This initiative reflects a broader strategic focus by Ministry of IT and Telecommunication to build a digitally empowered startup landscape that leverages advanced technologies and global best practices. By combining financial incentives with technical mentorship and access to leading cloud providers, Ignite’s program is set to create a stronger, more resilient foundation for Pakistani startups, supporting innovation, scalability, and long-term ecosystem development.
