Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT) has announced the completion of the screening process for the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ignite National Technology Fund.

The Human Resource Governance Committee (HRGC) conducted interviews with shortlisted candidates in August 2024 and will present its recommendations to the Board in an upcoming meeting. The Board is expected to finalize the CEO selection process within the next week.

The position of CEO at Ignite became vacant following the completion of the fixed-term employment contract of Asim Shahryar Husain on January 17, 2024.

The initial advertisement for the position was issued in December 2023, and the application deadline was extended to June 27, 2024.

Adeel Aijaz Shaikh, GM Corporate Affairs, has been serving as the interim CEO since January 18, 2024, and will continue in this role until a regular CEO is appointed.
