Iqra University Skill-Up Batch IV Opens for Freelancing Training in Karachi

Published on

Iqra University has announced the launch of Skill-Up Batch IV under its Freelancing Excellence Program, aimed at equipping individuals in Karachi with practical, in-demand digital skills aligned with evolving market needs. The initiative, supported through outreach by National Incubation Center Karachi, is structured as an eight-weekend programme hosted at the university’s main campus and is designed to cater to both students and working professionals seeking to explore freelancing as a viable career path. With a focus on accessibility and hands-on learning, the programme reflects a broader push by academic institutions to bridge the gap between traditional education and the rapidly growing digital economy.

The training programme offers specialized courses in digital marketing, prompt engineering and generative artificial intelligence, and user interface and user experience design, areas that continue to see increasing demand in both local and international freelance marketplaces. Participants will engage in structured sessions led by industry practitioners, enabling them to gain exposure to real-world tools, workflows, and project-based learning environments. The inclusion of emerging fields such as generative artificial intelligence highlights a shift towards future-oriented skill development, ensuring that participants are not only equipped with current competencies but are also prepared for evolving technological trends shaping global freelance opportunities.

Beyond technical training, the programme places emphasis on mentorship, networking, and professional growth by connecting participants with experienced mentors and industry experts. This integrated approach aims to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of freelancing, including client communication, project management, and portfolio development. The hands-on nature of the sessions is intended to help participants build practical experience, enabling them to transition more effectively into freelance work or enhance their existing professional capabilities. Successful participants will also receive certification from Iqra University, further strengthening their credentials in competitive job and freelance markets.

Registrations for Skill-Up Batch IV are currently open, with the deadline set for April 20, 2026, while the programme is scheduled to commence in the last week of April. Open to Karachi residents aged 18 and above, the initiative follows a structured application and selection process, with limited seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. As interest in freelancing and remote work continues to grow across Pakistan, programmes such as Skill-Up are contributing to the development of a skilled workforce capable of participating in the global digital economy while also supporting local ecosystem growth through capacity building and knowledge transfer.
