KSBL Wins CFA Institute Research Challenge 2026 Sub-Regional | Asia Pacific Semi-Finals

Published on

A team from Karachi School of Business and Leadership has won the CFA Institute Research Challenge Sub-Regional Competition 2026, earning the right to represent Pakistan at the Asia Pacific Regional Semi-Final round. The achievement, announced by the institution’s official channels, marks a notable milestone for the business school and its students on an internationally competitive academic stage.

The winning team comprised Daniyal Lohana, Anusha Jauhar, Iliyan Suleman, Manal Adil, and Sheikh Muhammad Salman, who competed under the mentorship of Talha Ameer Khan, a Chartered Financial Analyst. Their performance at the sub-regional level was strong enough to secure direct qualification to the Asia Pacific semi-finals, placing them among a select group of student teams advancing through one of the most prestigious equity research competitions in the world.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that tasks university students with conducting in-depth equity research and analysis of a publicly listed company, culminating in a written report and live presentation before a panel of industry professionals. The competition is widely regarded as a rigorous real-world test of financial analysis, valuation, and communication skills, and draws participants from hundreds of universities across the globe each year.

For Karachi School of Business and Leadership, the win represents both institutional validation and a reflection of the quality of finance education being delivered at the campus. The team’s progression to the Asia Pacific semi-finals puts them in contention against some of the region’s strongest business school programs, and their performance in the rounds ahead will be closely watched by Pakistan’s finance and investment community.
