Mobilink Bank and Aangan Launch BiBi App for Breast Cancer Awareness in Pakistan

Published on

Mobilink Bank has launched the BiBi App, a digital platform focused on breast cancer awareness and women’s health education in Pakistan. The application has been developed by Aangan, a women led startup incubated through the WIN Incubator program, and is designed to improve access to reliable and culturally relevant health information for women across the country. Available in both Urdu and English, the platform aims to address awareness gaps by providing accessible educational resources for communities where information and healthcare access often remain limited.

The initiative reflects a broader effort to combine digital innovation with social impact by using technology to support healthcare awareness and women centered solutions. Organizers stated that the app was developed with the understanding that empowerment extends beyond financial inclusion and also requires access to knowledge, practical tools, and informed decision making resources. Through the BiBi App, the organizations involved aim to encourage greater awareness around breast cancer while making health related information easier to access for women from diverse social and regional backgrounds.

The project also highlights the role of women led startups within Pakistan’s growing innovation ecosystem, particularly those developing solutions around healthcare, education, and social challenges. Aangan, the startup behind the platform, emerged through the WIN Incubator, which supports women entrepreneurs working on scalable and impact driven initiatives. The collaboration demonstrates increasing interest among financial institutions, incubators, and startups in developing technology based solutions that address public health concerns while supporting women entrepreneurship and digital inclusion.

The launch event was attended by foreign diplomats, policymakers, healthcare professionals, development sector representatives, and industry leaders who expressed support for the initiative and its focus on women’s health awareness. Organizers also acknowledged the contribution of wellness advocate and breast cancer survivor Gina Provó Kluit Gonesh for her collaboration on the project. Special recognition was extended to Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Embassy in Islamabad, for attending the launch and supporting discussions around healthcare awareness and women focused innovation initiatives in Pakistan.
