NIC Hyderabad Holds Day 1 of Elite Startups Bootcamp on Business Fundamentals

Published on

Day 1 of the Elite Startups Bootcamp at NIC Hyderabad focused on helping founders strengthen the core elements of their businesses, addressing foundational concepts including defining their Total Addressable Market, Serviceable Addressable Market, and Serviceable Obtainable Market, commonly referred to as TAM, SAM, and SOM. These frameworks help founders quantify the scale of the market opportunity they are pursuing, distinguishing between the theoretical maximum market size and the more realistic portion of that market a startup can actually capture.

The day also covered developing a practical MVP roadmap, giving founders a structured approach to planning how their minimum viable product will evolve from an initial version toward a more complete offering. Alongside this, the session addressed understanding pricing, business models, and company positioning, giving founders a comprehensive foundation across both market sizing and commercial strategy considerations.

A mentors’ panel featuring M Farhan Iqbal, Doctor Adnan Ashraf, Engineer Tufail Memon, and Aftab Ahmed offered founders valuable perspectives and feedback as they refined their business ideas. The panel format allowed founders to receive input from multiple mentors simultaneously, giving them a range of viewpoints on their specific business concepts rather than relying on a single mentor’s perspective.

The combination of foundational market sizing frameworks alongside practical MVP planning and business model development reflects a structured, methodical approach to the bootcamp’s opening day, building the analytical groundwork founders will need before moving into more advanced topics in subsequent sessions. This kind of layered curriculum design, starting with fundamentals before progressing to more complex material, is a common approach across structured founder training programmes.

The event is supported by Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, PTCL, LMKT, and Tech Destination Pakistan, reflecting the institutional network tied to NIC Hyderabad’s ongoing programming. Described as a focused first day of learning, validation, and strategic thinking, Day 1 sets the foundation for the sessions ahead in the Elite Startups Bootcamp, with founders expected to build on these core business fundamentals as the programme continues.
