NIC Hyderabad hosted a hands on workshop centred on offline artificial intelligence and agentic AI, giving participants a practical introduction to running language models and building AI agents without depending on an internet connection. The session, conducted using LM Studio, was led by Engineer Bilal and focused on showing attendees how emerging AI capabilities can be deployed locally rather than relying entirely on cloud based services.
Participants in the workshop explored how to run local language models directly on their own devices, build AI agents capable of carrying out specific tasks, and automate workflows using these offline tools. The session also covered practical applications of offline AI for real world use cases, with particular emphasis on the privacy and data control advantages that come with processing information locally rather than sending it to external servers. This approach has drawn growing interest as more individuals and organisations look for ways to work with AI systems while limiting their reliance on external infrastructure and reducing exposure of sensitive data.
Beyond the technical content, the session gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about NIC Hyderabad itself, including details of its incubation programme and the kind of support available to aspiring entrepreneurs interested in turning early stage ideas into scalable ventures. Pairing a technical workshop with an introduction to the incubation centre’s broader offerings reflects a format NIC Hyderabad has used previously to combine skill building sessions with outreach aimed at potential incubation applicants.
NIC Hyderabad extended thanks to Engineer Bilal for leading what organisers described as an engaging and practical session, along with appreciation for the participants who took part with interest in the subject matter. The incubation centre framed the workshop as part of a continuing effort to make emerging technologies more accessible to its community through hands on, practically oriented sessions rather than purely theoretical instruction.
The workshop adds to a series of technical sessions NIC Hyderabad has run for its community, supported by partners including Ignite National Technology Fund, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, PTCL, LMKT and Tech Destination Pakistan. As interest in offline and agentic AI tools continues to grow among developers and technologists in Pakistan, sessions of this kind are likely to remain a recurring feature of NIC Hyderabad’s programming going forward.
