Haprow, a startup incubated through National Incubation Center Karachi’s Cohort 12, represented Pakistan at the 2026 Acceleration Week of the Global Youth Development Program in China, a gathering that brought together young innovators from more than 70 countries to showcase their ventures and engage with a globally diverse community of entrepreneurs and technologists. Founded by Muhammad Ali Abbas, Haprow showcased TimTim, an artificial intelligence-powered social assistive robot designed specifically for children with diverse learning and communication needs. TimTim represents a category of assistive technology that sits at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, and special needs education, addressing a population of children whose learning and communication differences often require highly individualised, patient, and consistent forms of engagement that can be difficult to provide at scale through conventional human-led therapeutic and educational approaches alone. By building a social robot capable of engaging children through interactive, AI-driven communication, Haprow’s technology offers the potential for supplementary support that can extend and reinforce the work that educators, therapists, and caregivers provide, particularly for children with autism spectrum conditions, communication delays, or other learning differences that benefit from structured, predictable, and patient interactive engagement.
The Global Youth Development Program’s Acceleration Week in China provided Haprow with an opportunity to present TimTim to an audience of innovators and stakeholders from over 70 countries, a scale of international exposure that gives the venture access to perspectives, potential partnerships, and market insights that would be difficult to access through domestic platforms alone. For a startup building assistive technology specifically designed to serve a population whose needs are often underserved by mainstream technology development, this kind of international visibility carries particular significance, both for the commercial development of the venture and for the broader visibility of the population TimTim is designed to serve.
