Paklaunch is hosting an NYC Meetup during United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, timed to coincide with a moment when Pakistan is helping shape the global conversation on blockchain, tokenisation, and the future of digital finance directly at the UN. The meetup extends that same conversation to the wider tech community in New York, giving founders, investors, and diaspora professionals a chance to engage with the substance of those higher-level discussions in a more informal, networking-oriented setting.
The event’s special guest is Bilal Bin Saqib, Minister of State and chairman of Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, who is in New York as Pakistan helps convene a dedicated UN dialogue on blockchain and the tokenised future, bringing together governments, regulators, and global industry leaders. Saqib’s presence carries substantial institutional weight, given his role leading Pakistan’s national push into digital assets since 2025, spanning his founding leadership of the Pakistan Crypto Council, his prior role as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Blockchain and Crypto, and his current position as PVARA’s chairman overseeing licensing, supervisory frameworks, and consumer protection standards for a virtual asset regulator serving a country of 250 million people, most of them under 30.
Paklaunch’s decision to bring Saqib into a New York meetup setting, rather than confining his UNGA week engagements strictly to official UN and government sessions, reflects a broader pattern the organization has built around connecting Pakistan’s policy and regulatory leadership directly with the diaspora entrepreneurial community. Paklaunch operates as an exclusive community connecting Pakistani diaspora with entrepreneurs and investments back home, and has run similar meetups in multiple cities this year, including earlier NYC and Dubai gatherings bringing together founders, investors, and operators shaping Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.
The meetup is scheduled for Tuesday, 22 September, at 6:00 PM sharp in New York City, and interested attendees can register through this link. Organizers extended a direct invitation to anyone in New York for UNGA who is building the future of finance, positioning the event as a natural gathering point for the overlapping communities of Pakistani policymakers, diaspora investors, and fintech builders converging in the city that same week.
