Chief Minister Punjab has introduced two groundbreaking initiatives, the Punjab Asaan Karobar Finance Scheme and the Punjab Asaan Karobar Card Scheme, aimed at fostering business growth and empowering SMEs across the province. The launch ceremony marked a significant step in the Punjab government’s efforts to stimulate economic activity and support aspiring entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the inauguration, the chief minister highlighted the transformative potential of these schemes.

“Under the Asaan Karobar Finance Scheme, interest-free loans of Rs1 million to Rs30 million will be provided,” she announced, emphasizing that the repayment of these loans would be facilitated through easy installments. Additionally, the Asaan Karobar Card will enable individuals to access loans ranging from Rs500,000 to Rs1 million. Citizens interested in availing these opportunities can conveniently apply online and seek assistance through the dedicated helpline, 1786.

The chief minister underscored the importance of SMEs as the backbone of the economy and described the newly launched schemes as revolutionary. “These schemes hold the potential to change the destiny of Punjab and Pakistan. Small and medium enterprise businesses are the mainstay of the economy. The CM Punjab Asaan Karobar Finance and Asaan Karobar Card are the first and unique schemes of the Punjab government,” she stated. Highlighting the ease introduced by these initiatives, she remarked, “Earlier, it was not easy to launch a business. Now we have made it easier through these schemes.”

As part of the broader strategy to support business development, land will be offered at highly subsidized rates for entrepreneurs looking to start small businesses. The finance scheme stands out as the first of its kind in Punjab’s history, offering interest-free loans of up to Rs30 million. Addressing the audience, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, “There is no need to immediately get any NOC, licence or plan approved to obtain a loan. Get a loan today and start your business tomorrow. These interest-free loans will be given through the Bank of Punjab.”

Further emphasizing the government’s commitment to bolstering exports, the chief minister revealed additional incentives for industrial growth in export processing zones. “In order to enhance the country’s exports, more incentives will be given to set up industries in export processing zones,” she stated. She also announced that aspiring entrepreneurs planning to establish industries in these zones would be provided with solar systems worth Rs5 million free of charge, a step aimed at promoting renewable energy and reducing operational costs for businesses.

The CM expressed confidence that these initiatives would pave the way for a thriving SME sector, ultimately leading to economic prosperity in Punjab.

“The schemes will pave the path for SMEs leading to prosperity in Punjab. The young entrepreneurs will be able to benefit from these schemes and expand their businesses so that they can play their proactive role in the economic development,” she said.

These initiatives reflect the Punjab government’s vision of creating an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation. By eliminating traditional barriers and providing financial and infrastructural support, the schemes are set to empower a new generation of business leaders while driving economic growth in the province.
