Suleman Dawood School of Business SDSB Hosts Nearpeer Founders for Technology Entrepreneurship Session

Published on

Suleman Dawood School of Business hosted Shahrukh Swati and Ammar Ali Ayub, co-founders of Nearpeer, for a guest speaker session with MS Technology Management and Entrepreneurship students as part of the Technology Entrepreneurship course. The session was conducted under the academic guidance of Dr. Shehryar Shahid and focused on connecting theoretical learning with real-world entrepreneurial experience.

The engagement followed a structured in-class case discussion on Nearpeer, where students analysed the venture’s growth trajectory, strategic decisions, and responses to key challenges faced during its development. This academic exercise allowed participants to critically evaluate startup dynamics and understand how entrepreneurial decisions evolve in practical business environments.

The presence of the founders added a practical dimension to the discussion, enabling students to directly engage with the individuals behind the case study. This interaction provided deeper insight into the realities of building and scaling a startup, including challenges related to execution, market adaptation, and strategic decision-making under uncertainty.

Such sessions reflect SDSB’s emphasis on experiential and industry-integrated learning within its MS Technology Management and Entrepreneurship programme. By combining case-based analysis with direct founder engagement, the programme continues to strengthen entrepreneurial thinking and bridge the gap between academic study and real-world startup practice.
