Wafi Energy Honors Pakistan’s Emerging Entrepreneurs at the 12th Tameer Awards 2025

Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited celebrated the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship with the successful hosting of the 12th Tameer Awards 2025, continuing its mission to empower and recognize young Pakistani entrepreneurs who are driving meaningful change across the country.

This year’s Tameer Awards attracted an impressive response, receiving more than 450 applications from across Pakistan. After a rigorous evaluation process, 30 finalists were selected to compete across six categories—Bright Ideas, Circular Economy, Clean Energy Solutions, Empowering Women, Technology Innovation, and Transportation & Mobility. Each finalist presented their business model before a distinguished panel of judges that included leading investors, corporate executives, and academic experts, who assessed the startups for creativity, scalability, and social impact.

The winners represented a diverse range of ideas, reflecting Pakistan’s growing innovation potential. In the Bright Ideas category, Muhammad Zaka ur Rehman won for Z Media Technologies (RunVerse), a blockchain-powered “move-to-earn” fitness app that rewards users for physical activity. Manahil Akmal from AgriCalcis took the top prize in Circular Economy for developing a method to convert marble waste into fertilizer-grade calcium nitrate, contributing to sustainable agriculture practices.

In Clean Energy Solutions, Nida Riaz from Bio-Home Energy was recognized for creating mini biogas units that convert household organic waste into clean cooking gas and fertilizer. The Empowering Women category honored Syeda Bushra Zehra Zaidi, founder of B-Fit Revo, Pakistan’s first smart foot rehabilitation device and tele-rehab app designed specifically for women’s health.

Muhammad Ubaid Raza from Ace Aeronautics won in Technology Innovation for developing AI-powered, collision-resilient drones designed for industrial inspections and rescue missions. The Transportation & Mobility category was won by Ali Yar of Pani Express, a digital “Uber for Water” platform that optimizes tanker deliveries using IoT and real-time tracking.

Speaking at the ceremony, Habib Haider, Director Corporate & Government Relations at Wafi Energy, highlighted the transformative ideas presented by this year’s finalists. “The diversity and ingenuity of these startups showcase the growing potential of Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. From clean energy to women-led enterprises, our youth is shaping industries, creating jobs, and redefining growth and impact,” he said.

Reflecting on the purpose of the Tameer initiative, Zubair Shaikh, CEO of Wafi Energy Pakistan, noted, “Wafi Tameer continues to create real opportunities for young innovators. By supporting early-stage businesses, we are helping transform Pakistan’s youth into empowered entrepreneurs capable of turning challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.”

The runners-up in this year’s competition included CROPSEN (Bright Ideas), Ecoshelf (Circular Economy), WaterGenix (Clean Energy Solutions), GlamBee Pvt. Ltd. (Empowering Women), The Brave Next (Technology Innovation), and MILKIFY Pvt. Ltd. (Transportation & Mobility).

With the continued support of Wafi Energy, the initiative remains a cornerstone in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic progress in Pakistan.
