WISE Lab Cohort 1 Moves Toward Final Pitching Round After Induction Interviews

Published on

The Women Innovation and Startup Empowerment Lab has completed Induction Interviews for its inaugural Cohort 1, bringing shortlisted women founders together to share their ventures, experiences, and the work they are building ahead of the programme’s next stage. Conducting formal induction interviews before final selection gives the WISE Lab team a chance to evaluate founders beyond what an application alone can convey, learning directly about the people behind each venture, their individual journeys, and how well their ideas hold up in direct conversation rather than on paper.

With induction interviews now behind them, Cohort 1 moves into its Final Pitching Round on September 28, 2026, the stage where shortlisted founders will present their ventures in a more formal, competitive setting before securing a place in what will become WISE Lab’s first cohort. That progression, from application to interview to final pitch, mirrors the kind of multi-stage selection process increasingly common across Pakistan’s more established incubators, giving WISE Lab’s first cohort a rigorous foundation from the outset rather than a lighter vetting process for its debut round.

As a programme specifically built around women-led innovation and entrepreneurship, WISE Lab’s first cohort carries added significance for founders who have historically faced narrower pathways into formal incubation support in Pakistan. The structured, multi-step selection process signals that WISE Lab intends to build credibility around rigor rather than simply inclusion, positioning its first cohort as a genuine competitive opportunity rather than a lower bar entry point for women founders.

The programme is backed by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, JazzWorld, Mobilink Bank, and Change Mechanics, giving Cohort 1 institutional weight from both government and private sector partners as it heads toward its Final Pitching Round. For the shortlisted founders, September 28 represents the final step toward becoming part of WISE Lab’s first cohort, with the programme’s careful, phased build-up suggesting it is treating this inaugural group as a benchmark for how future cohorts will be selected and supported.
