NIC Hyderabad is hosting a dedicated Tameer Awards 2026 Awareness Session, scheduled for the twenty seventh of August, twenty twenty six, running from three in the afternoon until four, at NIC Hyderabad. The session will feature Imran Azeem, Program Manager for Training and Development at Wafi Energy, the organisation behind the long running Tameer Awards programme for young Pakistani entrepreneurs.
The session will cover the opportunity, application process, eligibility, and what founders need to know before applying, helping participants approach the awards with greater clarity and confidence. This kind of preparatory session reflects the competitive nature of Tameer Awards, where previous editions have drawn hundreds of applications from across Pakistan, with only a small number ultimately selected as finalists.
Tameer Awards has run for more than a decade as one of Pakistan’s more established recognition programmes for young entrepreneurs, celebrating outstanding startups at the prototype stage across multiple categories. Previous editions have drawn close to five hundred submissions nationwide, with finalists trained by international experts before presenting to a judging panel drawn from organisations including Wafi, Unilever, Philip Morris International, K-Electric, Higher Education Commission, NIC Karachi, IBA, and IoBM.
The broader Tameer programme, which Wafi Energy has run since 2003, has reached more than one point two million young Pakistani entrepreneurs, trained more than thirteen thousand five hundred individuals in sustainable enterprise development, and supported the creation of more than one thousand two hundred startups. Through the Tameer Awards specifically, one hundred and eighty four entrepreneurs have been recognised and rewarded, with more than fourteen million rupees in grants provided to alumni through international grant programmes.
The event is supported by Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, PTCL, LMKT, and Tech Destination Pakistan, reflecting the institutional network tied to NIC Hyderabad’s ongoing programming. Those interested in attending the awareness session can register through the link shared as part of the announcement at https://lnkd.in/dNjmEsCU, with the session designed to give NIC Hyderabad founders a clearer understanding of the Tameer Awards process ahead of this year’s application window.
