Centre of Excellence in Gaming and Animation has opened applications for Batch 5 of its free training program, offering fully funded, industry-focused training designed to help participants build practical skills across gaming and animation at no cost. The programme continues a training track CEGA has run through multiple prior batches, and this fifth cycle keeps the core structure intact while extending access to a new cohort of aspiring developers and animators across the country.
The on-site tracks, delivered in Lahore and Karachi, cover Unity 3D, pre-production, production, post-production, and 3D animation, giving in-person participants direct access to studio-style training environments and instructor availability that a purely remote format cannot replicate. CEGA’s existing training programmes typically run as live sessions across multiple days each week with well over 100 contact hours per track, giving participants a genuinely immersive schedule rather than a light introductory course.
For those unable to attend in person, CEGA is also offering online tracks covering Unreal Engine, production, and pre-production, extending the programme’s reach to applicants outside Lahore and Karachi who might otherwise have no access to structured gaming and animation training at this depth. Splitting the curriculum between on-site and online delivery, rather than offering identical content through both formats, reflects a deliberate choice to reserve certain hands-on, equipment-intensive skills like Unity 3D and 3D animation for in-person delivery while making the more software-based Unreal Engine track accessible remotely.
Participants learn directly from industry professionals and experts, gaining hands-on, industry-relevant skills and receiving a certificate upon successful completion of the training. Spanning the full pipeline from developing ideas and storytelling through to 3D creation, animation, VFX, and game development, Batch 5 gives applicants a genuinely comprehensive entry point into Pakistan’s gaming and animation industry. Interested applicants can apply through CEGA’s training portal, continuing the organization’s broader mandate, backed by Ignite National Technology Fund and Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, to train more than 10,000 individuals and build a national community of game developers, animators, and creative professionals over its first five years.
