The National Incubation Center Karachi has hosted an exclusive Pitch Fest in collaboration with nVentures, Gobi Partners, Aspire and tridorian, giving nine promising startups an opportunity to present their business models, solutions and growth potential to investors and industry leaders. The event brought founders and capital providers into the same room for a structured session of presentations, giving each startup a defined slot in which to make its case. For early stage companies, a pitch before a focused audience of investors offers a more direct route to feedback and introductions than general networking events.
The nine participating startups were Aitisal, Cort Technologies, Three Shelves, Sports Vector, SOCByte, Saheli, Lendverse, Fortanixor Technologies and Stellisys. Each presented its venture and then took part in focused question and answer sessions, which allowed investors to probe the assumptions behind the business and gave founders constructive feedback on how to improve. The startups also engaged directly with investors and industry representatives to explore potential investment, collaboration and business growth opportunities. The mix of names points to the range of sectors now represented in the center’s programs, which include health technology, financial technology and cybersecurity alongside consumer and sports focused ventures.
The session was led by Esna Ong of nVentures, who guided the discussion and helped facilitate meaningful interactions between investors and founders. The National Incubation Center Karachi extended its sincere appreciation to Esna Ong and the other investors and industry representatives who took part for their contributions, insights and support in advancing the participating startups. Their presence gave the founders access to perspectives from firms that evaluate companies regularly, and the questions they raised offered a realistic picture of what investors look for when deciding whether to back a young business. Beyond the immediate feedback, the event improved the visibility of the emerging ventures among people who can open doors to funding and customers.
The Pitch Fest adds to the center’s regular program of investor interaction, which it uses to connect startups in its cohorts with capital and expertise. By bringing together firms such as nVentures, Gobi Partners, Aspire and tridorian, the center gave its startups a chance to meet investors with different focuses and approaches. The National Incubation Center Karachi operates with the backing of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan and Ignite, the National Technology Fund, and its work is supported by LMKT, LuckyOne Mall and Orbit Ventures. As the nine startups follow up on the conversations begun at the event, the coming weeks will show which of the discussions lead to investment or collaboration.
