CEGA Joins Game Developers Conference San Francisco to Showcase Pakistani Gaming Talent

Published on

The Creative Entrepreneurship and Gaming Association (CEGA) has formally joined the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, marking its first official participation at the internationally recognised gathering of gaming professionals and interactive media leaders. The development places Pakistan’s creative technology sector on a prominent global platform and signals growing institutional efforts to position local talent within the international gaming industry.

Held annually in San Francisco, Game Developers Conference is regarded as one of the most influential events in the gaming calendar, bringing together developers, publishers, investors, technology providers and students from across the world. CEGA’s participation introduces a structured Pakistani presence at the event, offering startups, students and independent creators an opportunity to present their projects, exchange ideas with international peers and build commercial and professional networks.

According to CEGA representatives, the initiative is intended to showcase the capabilities of Pakistan’s gaming and interactive media ecosystem, while facilitating meaningful engagement with global stakeholders. The organisation stated that this marks the first time it will formally represent Pakistan’s creative technology community at the conference, positioning emerging companies and young professionals before a global audience.

The participation is being undertaken in collaboration with Ignite – National Technology Fund, operating under Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, with leadership support from Hum Network Limited. The collaboration reflects coordination between public sector institutions and private industry stakeholders to strengthen international outreach for Pakistan’s technology-driven sectors.

Industry observers note that Pakistan’s gaming market has experienced steady expansion in recent years, supported by a growing developer community, increasing digital adoption and rising interest in esports and interactive entertainment. However, international exposure for local studios has remained limited compared to regional peers. Participation in Game Developers Conference provides a channel for Pakistani developers to demonstrate their technical and creative capabilities within a competitive global marketplace.

CEGA’s presence at the conference will also include engagement with ecosystem partners such as Section Soft, Ideofuzion, Sablo Studio, LCE, LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship, Techsol Space and Agon Esportsv. These partnerships highlight coordination across academic institutions, private studios and technology firms working within Pakistan’s gaming and digital content landscape.

Beyond product showcases, the conference offers structured networking sessions, technical workshops and discussions on industry trends including game design, immersive technologies, monetisation models and cross-platform development. Participation allows Pakistani representatives to observe international standards, explore collaboration opportunities and identify pathways for scaling their ventures.

CEGA has indicated that one of its affiliated startups has qualified to participate at Game Developers Conference, with the official announcement of the selected company expected separately. The selection is being positioned as a representation of the broader talent emerging from Pakistan’s creative entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Stakeholders involved in the initiative describe the development as an opportunity to strengthen Pakistan’s visibility within the global gaming community and to demonstrate the country’s capacity in software development, digital storytelling and interactive media production. As the event unfolds in San Francisco, CEGA’s participation places Pakistani developers within direct dialogue with international industry leaders, publishers and investors, reinforcing efforts to expand the country’s footprint in the global gaming economy.
