The Foundation University Business Incubation Center (FUBIC) is hosting its 3rd International Virtual Bootcamp for Global Startups on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The online event is held in collaboration with the International Office of Foundation University Islamabad and carries the theme Building Scalable Startups in a Global Market. FUBIC said the bootcamp is meant to help young entrepreneurs take their startups to international markets, with expert faculty and practitioners from its international partner institutions sharing practical insights on intellectual property strategy, global brand building, scaling startups, investor pitching and biomimicry-based innovation. The session will be held on Microsoft Teams, and interested participants can join through the meeting link.
The keynote speaker is Shailendra Bhumralkar, the Intellectual Property Attaché for South Asia at the U.S. Embassy. According to the event poster, he has more than 30 years of experience in intellectual property law, technology transactions, international public policy and innovation strategy, and has previously served as Associate General Counsel for intellectual property at Tesla, Global Head of Intellectual Property at Naspers Group and Vice President for Global Intellectual Property at SAP. The poster adds that he has been recognized in the IAM Strategy 300 for ten consecutive years. For founders who plan to sell products or technology across borders, protecting intellectual property is often one of the first legal questions they face, so having a keynote speaker from this field gives the bootcamp a clear focus on the legal side of scaling.
Six featured speakers will follow the keynote. Shilpi Jha, Senior Commercial Specialist and IP Policy Lead for South Asia at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, will speak on monitoring, advising, analyzing and reporting on intellectual property matters related to South Asian countries. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Izzat Nor Ma’arof of INTI International University will speak on intellectual property strategies for scalable startups, from innovation to global commercialization, while his colleague Dr. Zetty Pakir Mastan, also of INTI International University, will present strategies for building scalable startups, from entrepreneurial ideas to global success. Dr. Muhammad Tariq of the University of Swat will assess the quality of business plans and elevator pitches from an investor’s perspective, Dr. Aytan Mammadova of Azerbaijan Technical University will speak on global brand building for startups, from market entry to international recognition, and Dr. Murat Unanoglu of Istanbul Aydin University will speak on using nature as a research and development lab and on building and protecting scalable biomimicry startups.
FUBIC said the initiative supports four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Partnerships for the Goals. The event will be run from the Foundation University School of Science and Technology, and further information is available from FUBIC at bic@fui.edu.pk or on 051-5748866. The announcement did not say whether the bootcamp is open to participants outside the university, whether there is a registration fee or how many people are expected to attend.
