LCCI Forms Digital Health Committee with InstaCare CEO to Boost HealthTech Innovation

Pakistan’s burgeoning digital healthcare landscape recently took a structured step forward with the formal establishment of a standing committee dedicated to digital health and entrepreneurship under the aegis of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. At the centre of this new initiative, Bilal Amjad, Chief Executive Officer of InstaCare, a Lahore-based health technology company, has been appointed as the convener of the Digital Health & Entrepreneurship Standing Committee, signalling a collaborative effort to advance innovation and industry alignment within the sector.

The decision to constitute this committee comes at a time when Pakistan’s health technology ecosystem is experiencing gradual growth, with increasing adoption of electronic health records, telemedicine solutions and integrated clinical workflows across both urban and semi-urban healthcare facilities. InstaCare itself has been a visible player in this space, offering a suite of digital health solutions that streamline clinical operations, improve access to patient information and support wider telehealth initiatives for clinics and hospitals.

With the new committee, LCCI hopes to create a unified platform where industry stakeholders, private providers, regulators and technology innovators can converge to formalise priorities and promote sustainable growth. The initial agenda outlined for the committee includes establishing standards for electronic medical record interoperability, promoting artificial intelligence integration in healthcare services and exploring ways to facilitate international collaboration and expansion for Pakistani healthtech firms.

Health technology in Pakistan has been increasingly acknowledged as a vital frontier for improving patient outcomes and system efficiencies. Startups and technology firms have been working to reduce administrative burdens, streamline patient engagement and open new channels for virtual care delivery. InstaCare’s SaaS-based platform, with solutions tailored to both patient needs and clinical workflows, has drawn attention for its emphasis on digital health transformation across the region.

By steering the newly formed digital health committee, Amjad assumes a role that goes beyond corporate leadership and into ecosystem coordination. In this capacity, his responsibilities will span working with business chambers, private hospitals, technology developers and broader policy influencers to foster a framework that supports innovation while addressing practical barriers that healthtech companies often encounter. Stakeholders have welcomed the move as timely, given the increasing intersection of technology and healthcare service delivery in Pakistan.

The committee’s formation also reflects an understanding within the business community that coordinated efforts can help bridge gaps between innovation and implementation. As digital health companies continue to emerge and scale, a structured forum may aid in navigating challenges related to standards, interoperability and integration with existing healthcare infrastructure. For many industry leaders, creating such a collaborative environment marks a shift toward more systemic support for technology-driven healthcare solutions in the country.

In summary, the LCCI’s move to launch the Digital Health & Entrepreneurship Standing Committee and appoint an industry figurehead from a healthtech firm represents an important milestone for Pakistan’s health technology ecosystem. By bringing together diverse voices from commerce, clinical practice, technology and innovation, the initiative seeks to foster a more cohesive environment for advancing digital health, aligning interests and leveraging collective expertise to transform healthcare delivery in the years ahead.
