NIC Karachi Acceleration Cohort 3 Learns Elevator Pitch Fundamentals From Orbit Ventures Expert

Published on

NIC Karachi’s Acceleration Cohort 3 took a focused look at the art of crafting a strong elevator pitch with Kelly Pang from Orbit Ventures, helping founders understand how to communicate their startup’s value clearly, concisely, and confidently to potential investors and partners. The session addressed a foundational skill for founders navigating investor conversations, where the ability to distill a complex business into a compelling, brief pitch often determines whether an investor engages further.

Pang’s session gave participants practical frameworks for structuring an elevator pitch, moving beyond generic advice into specific techniques for identifying and communicating the core value proposition of a startup within a limited time frame. This kind of concise communication skill is particularly relevant for founders operating in fast paced investor environments, where initial impressions often shape whether a longer, more detailed conversation follows.

The session equipped Fortanixor Technologies, Three Shelves, Lendverse, asani.io, and Porter Pakistan with practical insights to sharpen their messaging and make every pitch count, giving founders across these five distinct startups a shared foundation in pitch communication despite their differing business models and sectors. This shared training reflects a common approach within accelerator programmes, where certain foundational skills, such as pitching, are taught collectively even as startups pursue different growth paths.

Kelly Pang’s involvement, representing Orbit Ventures, brings an investor’s perspective directly into the training, giving founders insight into what actually resonates with investors evaluating pitches, rather than relying solely on generic public speaking or communication advice. This investor informed approach adds practical relevance to the session, helping founders understand not just how to structure a pitch, but what specific elements investors are listening for.

The event was supported by Tech Destination Pakistan, Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures, reflecting the institutional network tied to NIC Karachi’s Acceleration Cohort 3 programming. The elevator pitch session adds to a series of practical, skills focused sessions the cohort has received, building on earlier training covering fundraising fundamentals, continuing to prepare founders for the range of investor facing skills needed as they progress through the acceleration programme.
