NIC Karachi Marks Six-Year Anniversary with LMKT and Ignite Partnership

LMKT, in collaboration with Ignite – National Technology Fund, marks the six-year anniversary of NIC Karachi, Pakistan’s Largest Tech Incubator and Startup Accelerator. The milestone celebration also commemorates the graduation of 50 startups from Cohort 10 and 11, underscoring the vibrancy of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.

Through a public-private partnership framework, LMKT and Ignite, a project under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), have been instrumental in overseeing NIC Karachi’s growth, alongside NIC Hyderabad and NIC Peshawar.

NIC Karachi has been pivotal in nurturing and accelerating entrepreneurial ventures, providing guidance, training, and financial support. Notably, the impact of NIC Karachi’s initiatives includes assisting 299 startups, creating over 1 million jobs, and attracting investments totaling Rs. 8.1 billion.

Distinguished guests from government and industry leaders gathered at NIC Karachi to celebrate its profound impact on Pakistan’s economy and innovation landscape.

Bilal Abbasi, General Manager of Ignite, highlighted the significant economic growth, job creation, and investor interest spurred by incubation centers nationwide. He extended congratulations to NIC Karachi for its remarkable success.

Ahmad Junaid, Program Manager of NIC Karachi, emphasized the hub’s exponential growth and its role as Pakistan’s premier startup hub, supporting over 299 startups and generating substantial revenue and job opportunities.

Atif R. Khan, CEO of LMKT, reiterated the organization’s commitment to supporting startups and contributing to Pakistan’s development, expressing pride in NIC Karachi’s journey to become the country’s largest startup hub.

In closing, Atif expressed optimism about Pakistan’s future and NIC Karachi’s continued role in driving innovation and entrepreneurship.

The celebration concluded with networking sessions, facilitating connections between graduating startups, mentors, and industry leaders, further cementing NIC Karachi’s position as a catalyst for innovation in Pakistan.
