Sualeh Asif Featured on Forbes Billionaires List After Cursor AI Startup Success

Published on

Sualeh Asif, a Pakistani-born entrepreneur and co-founder of the artificial intelligence coding startup Cursor, has been featured on the Forbes Billionaires list following the rapid growth of his company. The development highlights the increasing global impact of AI-driven software tools and the rising presence of South Asian founders in the international technology landscape.

According to Forbes, Asif has an estimated net worth of around $1.3 billion, driven by his stake in Anysphere, the parent company of Cursor. The startup has seen significant expansion, reaching a valuation of approximately $29.3 billion after raising substantial funding from leading global venture capital firms. The platform is widely used by developers across major technology companies, including Nvidia, Adobe, Uber, and Shopify.

Cursor, co-founded by Asif along with fellow MIT graduates, is an AI-powered coding assistant designed to help software developers write, edit, and optimize code more efficiently. The product has gained strong adoption in the developer community and is reported to generate over $1 billion in annualised revenue, placing it among the fastest-growing companies in the artificial intelligence sector.

Born in Karachi, Sualeh Asif represents a new generation of Pakistani-origin founders making global impact in deep technology sectors. His background includes participation in international mathematics competitions and studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he later co-founded Cursor with his collaborators. His inclusion in global billionaire rankings reflects both the commercial success of Cursor and the accelerating demand for AI-driven development tools across the global software industry.
