ComplyEncrypt Helps SMEs Simplify Compliance At NIC Karachi

Published on

ComplyEncrypt, a startup incubated at National Incubation Center Karachi, is helping small and medium enterprises simplify one of the more overlooked but persistent obstacles to growth, regulatory and compliance burden. Founded by SM Waqas Imam, the company enables businesses to automate compliance processes through lean, ISO aligned solutions, aiming to make audit readiness faster, more affordable, and easier to manage for companies that often lack the resources to build out dedicated compliance teams.

For many SMEs looking to expand into international markets, compliance requirements can become one of the most time consuming and costly parts of scaling a business, often requiring specialized consultants or lengthy manual audit preparation. ComplyEncrypt’s approach centers on automating much of that process, allowing companies to align with recognized standards without the overhead traditionally associated with compliance work. By keeping the solution lean and ISO aligned, the startup is positioning itself as an accessible option for smaller businesses that may otherwise delay international expansion simply because compliance felt out of reach.

The startup’s development has taken place within NIC Karachi’s incubation program, which continues to run new cohorts aimed at supporting early stage founders as they build and scale their companies. NIC Karachi is now accepting applications for its Cohort 16, offering founders mentorship, access to industry experts, investor networks, and broader support structures designed to help startups move from early stage products to scalable businesses. The center’s backing comes from a mix of partners including Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite the National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures.

ComplyEncrypt’s emergence from the NIC Karachi program reflects a broader pattern among Pakistan’s incubation centers, where startups solving practical, unglamorous problems, like compliance, back office automation, or operational efficiency, often find as much traction as those building in more visible consumer facing categories. These businesses tend to address real, immediate pain points for other companies, giving them a clearer path to early revenue and customer validation compared to ventures that require longer periods to build market awareness.

Founders interested in following a similar path can apply to NIC Karachi’s Cohort 16 through the program’s application link, joining a pipeline that has already produced companies like ComplyEncrypt working to solve tangible problems for Pakistan’s SME sector.
