inDrive announced its partnership with Vlektra, an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, to integrate electric motorcycles into its ride-hailing fleet in Pakistan. This collaboration is recognized as a significant milestone in the nation’s transportation sector, signaling a shift towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

InDrive claims the title of the first ride-hailing company in Pakistan to incorporate EVs, marking a pivotal move to reduce emissions and promote environmental sustainability. Roman Ermoshin, Director of the APAC region at inDrive, expressed the partnership’s importance, emphasizing a commitment to sustainability and innovation in Pakistan.

Fatiq Bin Khursheed, Co-founder of Vlektra, echoed this sentiment, describing the partnership as a pioneering move in Pakistan’s ride-hailing landscape, aligning with the shared goal of reducing emissions and fostering eco-friendly transport.

As part of the initiative, inDrive has launched a contest to raise awareness about EVs and environmental sustainability. The contest rewards the best-performing drivers with free EV bikes.

Established in 2013, inDrive is a global ride-hailing platform operating in over 450 cities across 46 countries, providing a transparent pricing system based on real-time demand and market conditions. Vlektra, a Pakistani startup founded in 2021, focuses on providing eco-friendly and sustainable electric vehicle solutions, contributing to the reduction of Pakistan’s carbon footprint.
