Paklaunch to Host Webinar with Temporal CEO Samar Abbas on Building Scalable Distributed Systems

Paklaunch is set to host an online webinar on March 12 featuring Samar Abbas, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Temporal Technologies, offering participants a chance to hear insights from one of the key figures shaping the global developer infrastructure ecosystem. The session will focus on how modern software systems are being built using distributed architectures and open-source technologies, and how these innovations are transforming the way developers design reliable and scalable applications.

Temporal Technologies has gained significant recognition in the global technology ecosystem for its open-source platform designed to help developers build fault-tolerant and distributed systems at scale. The platform is widely used to manage complex workflows and ensure application reliability, particularly in environments where failures, retries, and distributed processes are common. By enabling developers to focus on core business logic rather than infrastructure complexity, Temporal’s technology has become an important component in the development of modern, agentic software systems.

The company recently raised $300 million in Series D funding at a valuation of $5 billion, marking a major milestone in its growth. The investment round was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), one of Silicon Valley’s most influential venture capital firms. Other prominent investors participating in the round include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and several existing investors such as Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, Tiger Global Management, GIC, Madrona Venture Group, and Amplify Partners. The funding highlights continued investor confidence in infrastructure platforms that support next-generation software development and large-scale distributed applications.

During the webinar, Samar Abbas is expected to share perspectives on building and scaling developer-focused platforms, lessons from leading a high-growth infrastructure startup, and insights into the broader evolution of distributed computing. The discussion will also touch on the growing importance of open-source technologies in enabling innovation across industries and how startups can leverage these tools to accelerate product development.

The conversation will be moderated by Muhammad Bilal Lakhani, an award-winning journalist and longtime columnist for Express Tribune who has conducted interviews with several prominent leaders from Pakistan’s political and business landscape. Lakhani is also the host of the podcast Pehchaan: Extraordinary Pakistani American Stories, where he highlights influential individuals from the Pakistani diaspora making an impact globally. His work has earned international recognition, including becoming the first Pakistani recipient of the global PR 40 Under 40 award.

Paklaunch has increasingly positioned itself as a platform connecting Pakistani entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals across the global technology ecosystem. Through initiatives such as webinars, networking events, and community engagement, the organization provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration between founders and industry leaders.

The upcoming session represents an opportunity for participants to gain direct insights from a founder operating at the forefront of developer infrastructure and distributed systems innovation. The webinar will take place on March 12 at 10:00 AM US Pacific Time, which corresponds to 10:00 PM Pakistan time, and will be accessible online through Zoom.

The event is expected to attract developers, startup founders, investors, and members of the broader technology community interested in understanding the evolving landscape of modern software architecture and the role of open-source platforms in enabling scalable digital products.
